  - To plan & execute all works relating to the lifting, installation, hook-up, commissioning and testing, certification of mechanical equipment including but not limited to engines, generators, pumps, hydraulic systems, propulsion systems, LSA related machinery, deck machinery, winches, cranes and other mechanical system equipment.
- To ensure all works are carried out in line with the planning schedule and in accordance with safety standards and company work practices.
- Reporting of material issued, man-hour used, work progress
- Responsible to ensure workers follow safe working practices in regards to personnel safety and HSE rules.
- To carry out works required for commissioning, start-up and sea trials
- To ensure preservation and safe keeping of mechanical equipment while under storage.
- To study general arrangements and detail drawings relating to mechanical equipment and related installation manuals or procedures.
- To manage, monitor and control workers / contractors appointed for works.
- To monitor contractors’ work quality, and work progress against project schedule.
- To ensure the safekeeping and protection of materials delivered to yard.
- To conduct regular inspections of work-in-progress in shop and/or onboard.
- To ensure that equipment is correctly installed and can be operated safely.
- To test and commission installed equipment.
- To coordinate with other departments for interfacing of systems and disciplines
- To plan the work in accordance with the production schedule
- To organize, assign, instruct and direct groups of workers.
- To ensure personnel safety at all times and to enforce company rules among workers.
- To ensure that all workers are trained and understand SOFEL’s safety standards.
- To ensure that workers are fully equipped and use personal safety equipment (PPE) as required by SOFEL’s HSE Manual
- To organize tool box talks to educate and improve workers’ understanding of shipbuilding safety standards
