The Position:

Initial Provisioning and re-provisioning of Aircraft Spares, Tools, Consumables and SB/Mod Materials in order to achieve desired service levels with optimum stock levels. Timely delivery of assigned tasks in order to complete group and sectional objectives on target. Comply with current inventory planning and purchasing systems, processes and policies and assist in exploring/implementation of new system in order to enhance materials support and control.

The Accountabilities:

Timely initial provisioning and re-provisioning of assigned group of items, including Retrofit/Mod/SEWC items and breakdown spares of in-house repairable items by analysing manufacturer recommendation, EK experience and establishing requirements to effectively support fleet growth/phase out, maintain desired service level standard. Comply with material planning & purchasing procedures, methods and parameter applicable to different types and categories of aircraft parts in order to maintain cost effective and optimum stock level. Support objectives of supply chain metrics, weekly, monthly and annual measurement and control AOGs, Robberies, Shortages, Service Levels, Surplus, Deferred Defects, Overdue Orders, Cycle Time, Backlogs, Vendor Performance and other agreed strategic Key Performance Indicators. Highlight critical shortages, service delivery failures and implement corrective actions to maintain performance, productivity and delivery at the agreed level. Obtain Price Catalogue?s, ensure these are timely analysed and updated in system. Highlight Price, Lead time or other issues and take it up with Vendors. Where contracts are in place ensure in conjunction with user department all negotiated terms and condition are complied and incentives if any are realized. Timely action material shortages, provisioning triggers Receipt, Invoice and Stores Discrepancies to avoid backlogs, quarantine stock build up and credit holds. In case of any backlog build up, provide visibility and take corrective action on priority. Highlight short coming and suggest improvements in the inventory systems and processes. Carry out periodic audits of inventory parameters such as Re-order point, Order Qty, Price, Lead Time, AMU etc, and take necessary improvement action where needed. Participate in selection, acceptance, testing, training and implementation of inventory system enhancement or related software to ensure the new system / software has the desired functions and features, it is implemented smoothly and utilised to maximum capability. Review of non-moving and over stocked repairable and expendable items of assigned vendors / commodities in order to establish contractual buyback items and surplus stock and put up for control approval to declare such items as surplus in order to reduce inventory and create opportunity for sale of surplus. Source, pre-qualify and evaluate suppliers to assess what services and products they are qualified to provide there by ensuring the correct product and service is available and where possible build / recommend alternate source of supply. Independently negotiate where applicable price, terms and conditions and authorise release purchase orders for values up to assigned financial limit. For values above financial limit, obtain financial approval from competent authority. Suggest and initiate project buying, annual ordering, consignment stock, JIT and other ways and means to reduce purchase cost and inventory while maintaining service standards.

Qualifications:

Degree or Honors (12 3 or equivalent) in Engineering, Business Administration, Commerce or Supply Chain or 12 years schooling or equivalent.

Experience:

5 yrs in planning and purchasing for 12 years schooling or 3 yrs for Graduate or 2 yrs for Engineering Graduate. Industry experience in Supply Chain is preferable (Warehouse and Logistics, Repair management, Material Planning/Support & Inventory Control, Technical Purchasing). Preference will be given to personal with airline experience however consideration will also be given to candidates with good educational background with experience in above functions from other fields involving high value, technically complex products.

Knowledge and Skills:

Thorough knowledge of inventory systems, models and principles of forecasting, materials management and purchasing. Familiar with of all corresponding repair, warranty, stores, inventory, technical, maintenance planning, production and quality interfaces. Familiar with aircraft systems including maintenance philosophies, practices, policies and procedures

Salary & Benefits: We offer an attractive tax-free salary, paid in Dirhams, the local currency of the UAE. The Dirham is linked to the Special Drawing Right of the International Monetary Fund. It has been held constant against the US dollar since the end of 1980 at a mid-rate of approximately US$1= Dh3.66.
