Olympus Pacific Minerals Inc. is a diversified gold mining company focused on four gold properties located in Vietnam, Eastern Malaysia, and the northern Philippines.

In Vietnam, the listed Canadian company operates two underground gold mine sites and two gold processing plants in central Vietnam, at Bong Mieu and Phuoc Son. Olympus Pacific Minerals Vietnam (OYM VN) is a subsidiary of OYM Inc.  

OYM VN has a vacancy based in Vietnam, Da Nang for the key position of Senior Financial Accountant, reporting to Financial Controller Asia and working closely with the 13 person Accounting team.  

The Role

The Senior Financial Accountant will add value to both the external and internal accounting across all three joint ventures in Vietnam for Olympus Pacific Minerals Vietnam (OYM-VN), Bong Mieu Gold Mining Company (BMGMC) and Phuoc Son Gold Company (PSGC), and is required to perform the following duties:

Continuous improvement of the quality and timeliness of the monthly financial reporting, statutory reporting, management reporting, budget and forecasting.Senior and supervisory role, as the day to day tasks and responsibility for financial reporting cycle is undertaken by the Chief Accountants of the joint venturesSecond-in-command (2ic) to the Financial Controller Vietnam across a range of financial affairs.     Act in the delegated capability of FC as required from time to timePlaying a key role in providing annual budget & forecasts

The Requirements                               

CA/CPA qualified or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years experience;Experience in IFRS reporting, ideally with a listed company;Good written and spoken English;Advanced computer literacy  and experience in working with ERP systemsStrong analytical and conceptual thinking; Initiative and self-control;High level of attention to detailsEffective problem solving skills, coupled with proven ability to recognize areas for improvement;Teamwork & collaboration: co-operates, asks for inputs, encourages others, fosters team spirit;Strong business acumen along with superb international skills to enable to enjoy strong relationships with people at all levels both internal and external to the business.A persistent style and keenness to lead are essential.
