About the Swedish Trade Council in ASEAN

The Swedish Trade Council (STC) in ASEAN provides professional services supporting Swedish companies in establishing and developing products, services and ideas on the ASEAN market. The region has five offices; Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam and employs 12 people. We are now looking for a strong entrepreneurial and sales oriented person with a keen interest in developing one of the most exciting emerging markets in the world - Vietnam. What do we expect from you as Manager in Vietnam?
You will be responsible for establishing our operations in Vietnam and will be based in Hanoi. STC has been present in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam since 2006 through an external organization, but from 2012 July 1, STC will open up our own office and operations in Hanoi.  You will manage the whole process of establishing STC in Vietnam ranging from finding office location to hire staff and build a strong network and knowledge of the Vietnamese market. This is a very entrepreneurial role that requires being able to balance the strategic with the practical dimensions of establishing and building a strong business.

Key areas of responsibilities:

Analyse the Vietnamese/ASEAN market area in order to offer services that meet the needs of our customers; identify new business opportunities to generate sales and profitabilityActively sell and market the Vietnam/ASEAN region by identifying and approaching potential clients in Sweden and in AsiaTake full responsibility for sales and delivery in the Vietnam marketManage external relations and contacts with partnersWork closely together with the ASEAN team, contribute to the development of the ASEAN region and report to the ASEAN Area managerYou will operate from a global perspective to promote the Swedish industry and companies all over the world supported by industry specialists in prioritized high potential Business Areas.Create a fun, healthy, inspirational and challenging work environment where employees enjoy work and have a good work-life balance; build well-functioning teams where everybody have clear roles

Who are we looking for?
You have a high academic degree, probably Master of Science in Business and Administration and/or Engineering. Minimum 5 years of experience from sales and business development. You also have management experience. Strong drive, documented sales experience and entrepreneurial skills are essential requirements for this role. Experience from working within Environmental Technology and Sustainability is meritating.

Strong language skills in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing, are required. Social and team-working skills are highly valued as well as passion for and ability to handle new challenges. You should be used to operate in an emerging market environment and be skilled in relationship building.

As a person, you are business-oriented, goal-focused and well-organized. You should communicate clearly and convincingly and you should be strongly self-motivated. You are interested in other people and have the capacity to manage, stimulate and motivate personnel to perform well and develop.
